WhatsApp Integration

Connect and communicate via WhatsApp Business

How do I connect WhatsApp to the app?

Open "WhatsApp" from the menu, tap "Get Started" and then "Connect with Meta". Sign in with Meta, choose your WhatsApp Business account and allow access. Only your business account is connected, not your personal WhatsApp.

Once connected, you can chat with customers, send campaigns, manage templates and put your products into your WhatsApp catalog. To disconnect, open "WhatsApp" → "Settings".

How do I send messages to customers via WhatsApp?

Open a chat under "WhatsApp" → "Inbox", or use the "WhatsApp" tab in a customer's profile. The tab appears when WhatsApp is connected and the customer has a phone number and has agreed to WhatsApp messages.

You can write freely for 24 hours after the customer's last message to you. Outside that window, or if the customer has never written to you, you can only send an approved template: tap the template button next to the text field and fill in its placeholders. The whole conversation stays in the chat.

How do I create a WhatsApp campaign?

Go to "WhatsApp" → "Campaigns", tap the round + button and choose "Create new campaign". The form has four steps: name the campaign and pick an approved template, choose the customers, optionally switch on AI personalization, which fills the template's placeholders for each customer (with a preview for up to 3), and check everything before sending.

Only customers with a phone number and WhatsApp consent receive the campaign, and their consent type has to fit the template category (marketing or utility); the others are skipped. You can send right away or schedule the campaign for at least 15 minutes from now.

How do message templates work?

WhatsApp only lets you start a conversation or send a campaign with a template that Meta has approved. Find your templates under "WhatsApp" → "Templates" and create one with "New Template".

A template has a name, a category (marketing for promotions, utility for reminders and order updates), a language, an optional header (text or image), the message body, an optional footer and up to 3 buttons. Use "Insert placeholder" to add numbered placeholders that are filled in for each customer when sending. New templates go to Meta for review and stay pending until they are approved or rejected; "Sync" updates their status. Starter templates from the app are marked with a badge.

How does product catalog sync work?

Under "WhatsApp" → "Catalog" you add your products to your WhatsApp Business catalog, so customers can browse them in WhatsApp. On "Product Catalog", select the products and tap the sync button; the screen shows when the last sync ran and whether it worked.

Changed products are not updated automatically — sync them again after a change. To take products out, switch to managing the synced products, select them and tap "Remove from Catalog".

How does the app handle GDPR compliance for WhatsApp?

Under "WhatsApp" → "Data Privacy" you see how consent data is handled and can download all consent records as a JSON file with "Export All Consent Data". Every opt-in and opt-out is logged with a timestamp.

For a single customer, open their profile, tap the gear icon and go to "Data Privacy (GDPR)": there you see the consent history and can use "Export Consent Data" or "Delete All Consent Data". Deleting can't be undone.
